Daytime Contact Lenses

Daily contact lenses, including MiSight, bring myopia management into the school day, the sports field and everyday life.

A daily routine with a specific purpose

Some soft contact lenses are designed to correct distance vision while also slowing childhood myopia progression. They differ from ordinary single-vision contact lenses. Your doctor will explain which lens options suit your child's prescription, eye health and stage of development.

Understanding MiSight

MiSight 1 day is an FDA-approved daily disposable soft contact lens for eligible children. Its U.S. indication includes children who begin treatment at ages 8–12 with specified prescription limits. Eligibility is more detailed than age alone, and your doctor will review it during the examination.

The lenses are worn during waking hours and discarded after removal. They are not intended for overnight wear. Treatment does not guarantee that myopia will stop progressing.

Confidence comes with practice

Children and parents receive instruction on putting lenses in, taking them out and recognizing problems. A child's readiness depends on motivation, hygiene and family support as well as age.

Monitoring matters

Follow-up visits assess vision, comfort, eye health and progression. Contact lenses carry a risk of eye infection, so correct handling and adherence to the prescribed schedule are essential.

Evidence behind daily lenses

Read the three-year MiSight randomized clinical trial: children assigned to MiSight had less average prescription progression and axial elongation than the single-vision contact-lens control group. Product eligibility and careful lens wear remain important.
